African Grey Parrot
Under the bright African sun lives a feathered genius, the African Grey Parrot! Dressed in a beautiful suit of sleek grey feathers with a splash of scarlet on its tail, this clever bird is a master of talk and trickery. It uses its powerful, curved beak to crack open the toughest nuts, just like you'd open a yummy snack. But its biggest talent is its voice! An African Grey can learn hundreds of words and sounds, from a ringing telephone to your very own laugh. It's not just copying; this smart parrot can learn what words mean, making it one of the brainiest birds in the whole world!

African Grey Parrot Conservation
Sadly, the clever African Grey Parrot is in trouble and needs our help. Many of these smart birds are being taken from their wild homes in the rainforest to be sold as pets, which is called illegal trapping. At the same time, the big, beautiful forests where they live are being cut down, leaving them with fewer places to find food, build nests, and raise their chicks. Because they are so smart and social, losing their freedom and their families is especially hard for them. That’s why they are now a protected species, so that we can work to keep these amazing talking birds safe in the sky where they belong.
